On 29 November 2025, HealthCare Innovation hosted an interactive workshop dedicated to ServeSenior, a new digital companion designed for seniors and their caregivers.

The objective of the session was to co-design a human-centered solution that supports autonomy, well-being, and daily life for older adults while reducing the burden on caregivers.

Workshop Highlights

• Presentation of the ServeSenior vision and core features, including monitoring, daily support, stimulation, and education modules
• Showcase of an early prototype and live collection of participant feedback
• Discussion of real-life needs of seniors, family caregivers, and healthcare professionals
• Exploration of how digital tools can complement home visits, community services, and clinical follow-up

A Co-Design Approach to Ageing Well

ServeSenior is being developed through a collaborative co-design methodology, ensuring that seniors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals actively shape the platform’s evolution.

The insights gathered during this first workshop will guide the next iterations of the application, strengthening usability, accessibility, and real-world relevance.

Why Digital Solutions for Healthy Ageing Matter

As populations age, digital health solutions play a growing role in supporting independent living, care coordination, and preventive health monitoring. The WHO Global Strategy on Digital Health (2020–2025) highlights the importance of inclusive and people-centered digital solutions. The OECD similarly emphasizes the need for sustainable long-term care systems supported by innovation and technology.

By developing ServeSenior with direct user involvement, HealthCare Innovation contributes to building trusted, accessible, and impact-driven digital health solutions for ageing populations.

Looking Ahead

HealthCare Innovation will continue engaging geriatricians, nurses, caregivers, social workers, and digital health innovators to refine and expand ServeSenior.

The initiative reflects HCI’s commitment to promoting safe ageing at home through secure, compliant, and human-centered digital innovation.
