Founded in 1963 as the Dar es Salaam Medical School and chartered as a university in 2007, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences is Tanzania’s leading public institution for health sciences. Based in Dar es Salaam, it trains students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, public health and allied sciences across seven schools and two institutes, with teaching hospitals at Muhimbili and Mloganzila.
